Hello welcome to my website. I have been working in the field of education for over 20 years. I began my teaching career in Dawson City, Yukon teaching grade 4 in a community of about 1400 people. I moved to Whitehorse a few years later and taught grade 5 and 6. I returned to university in 2001 to study a Master's in Education in Counselling. I have been working as a guidance counsellor with the Halifax Regional School board since 2004.
Prior to becoming a teacher I worked as a registered nurse in a variety of health care settings. I also taught first aid and cpr for Red Cross and had the opportunity to travel to remote parts of British Columbia to deliver the first aid programs. I enjoy a variety of activities that include running, hiking, skiing, quilting and reading.
